In Moscow, on Manezhnaya Square, the police detained the mother of a disabled miner, Vera Shikhova. It is reported by Open Russia.
Shikhova stood with a single picket in protest against the lack of social guarantees for her son, who was injured while working in the mine. She was taken to the Kitai-Gorod police station and released half an hour later without a protocol being drawn up.
This month, Shikhova was detained during one-man pickets three times. In 2010, her son Alexander was seriously injured at the Ziminka mine in the city of Prokopyevsk, Kemerovo Region, but the company's management refuses to admit that Alexander was injured at work. Shikhova has been traveling to Moscow for five years and holding solo pickets demanding that her son be given a disability group and social benefits.
