
The Presnensky court of Moscow sentenced businessman Sergei Polonsky to five years in a colony in the fraud case in the construction of elite housing. It is reported by Rain.

The prosecutor's office asked for Polonsky eight years in prison. In addition, the state prosecution required the entrepreneur for 900 thousand rubles. He was accused of fraud committed by an organized group (part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
According to investigators, Polonsky and his two accomplices stole 2.6 billion rubles during the construction of the Kutuzovskaya Mile residential complex and the village of Rublevskaya Riviera. The damage to them estimated at 5.7 billion rubles.
Polonsky’s defense stated that world agreements were concluded with most deceived equity holders. The entrepreneur himself denied his guilt. In November 2016, during the hearing, he said that he was going to run for president.
In January, the court removed Polonsky from the hall until the end of the process for violation of order. As the businessman’s lawyer said, he emotionally reacted to the remark of the judge of his wife, who smiled during the interrogation of the witness. Official accusation of Polonsky was charged in June 2013; At that time, the entrepreneur lived in Cambodia. In 2015, he was arrested and deported from the country.
