
Vladimir Kekhman will leave the post of general director of the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. This was stated by Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky, Interfax reports .
"He (Kekhman) is now going on vacation, after the leave from the post of general director he leaves. We are considering various candidates for the position of acting general director," Medinsky said. According to the minister, the Ministry of Culture is expected to receive a letter of resignation from the director of the theater within a month.
“This is due to the bankruptcy law of bankruptcy against him. I had a long conversation with Kekhman on this subject,” the Minister of Culture said.
Medinsky explained that Kekhman made such a decision so as not to undermine the image of the Ministry of Culture. "
"After our conversation, Kekhman said that he did not want to wait for a decision of one or another (judicial. -ed.) So that the Ministry of Culture does not look here in an unprofitable light," the minister noted. "The law on bankruptcy, cannot be the manager of budget funds recognized by the court to bankrupt."
Kekhman is currently undergoing bankruptcy. It was extended until July 13. In April 2015, Kommersant said that Kekhman was accused of embezzlement of 18 billion rubles , which the JFC group of companies controlled by him took on a number of banks.
Medinsky assured that the department was satisfied with Kekhman's work. Plus, we plan to open a long -building in September, the theater was closed for many years, there is a magnificent concert hall,” Medinsky emphasized.
