Apple will build the first date-center in China to store local users data

Apple announced its intention to build its first data center in China to comply with local law, obliging world companies to store data on Chinese users in the country, Interfax reports.

"The creation of a new data center will allow us to increase the speed and reliability of the work of our products and services, as well as bring the company's activities in line with new legislation," says Apple's statement.

According to The Wall Street Journal , the new Data Center will be created in the province of Guizhou, together with the Chinese state-owned company Guizhou On the Cloud Big Data Development, which is headed by a former official. The transfer of these ICLOUDs by local users will take several years and cost about $ 1 billion, while control over their encryption will remain in the hands of Apple. It is also known that the iCloud service in China will receive a new name and promote its Apple will be together with a partner.

The publication recalls that the new rules for storing these Chinese users entered into force on June 1, and Apple was forced to agree to their execution in order to maintain access to an important local market. This is not the first concession to Cupertino: in 2014, Apple agreed to store part of her data on the servers of the Chinese state operators.
