Venus Williams lost to Garbine Muguruza in the Wimbledon final

Spanish tennis player Garbine Muguruza defeated American tennis player Venus Williams in the Wimbledon final. The match ended with the score 7:5, 6:0.

For the 23-year-old Muguruza, this is the second Grand Slam victory. In 2016, she won the French Open. In 2015, she played in the Wimbledon final but lost to Serena Williams.

Williams, 37, played in the Wimbledon final for the ninth time and was defeated for the fourth time; she last won this tournament in 2008.

Garbine Muguruza occupies the 14th position in the ranking of the Women's Tennis Association, Venus Williams - 11th.
