Erdogan promised to “cut off the heads of traitors”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan vowed to "cut off the heads of traitors" while addressing thousands of protesters in Istanbul on the anniversary of the military coup attempt.

Erdogan said he would sign a law to restore the death penalty in Turkey if parliament passes it.

The Turkish President also said that the defendants in the case of the coup attempt should wear the same overalls as the detainees in Guantanamo Bay.

"None of those who betrayed our people will go unpunished," Erdogan said.
