Video bloggers opposed the repression for "extremism"

Nine popular video bloggers recorded the appeal in defense of Ruslan Sokolovsky, included in the register of terrorists and extremists. The video, published on Sunday on the YouTube channel Danila Perevechny, scored more than 300 thousand views by Monday morning.

Video bloggers demand to exclude Ruslan Sokolovsky from the Rosfinmonitoring Register and legislatively provide for the opportunity to appeal the inclusion on the black list. Sokolovsky is adjacent to him with Nurpashoy Kulaev, convicted of capture of the school in Beslan, Perenichny notes. "Sokolovsky is not a terrorist!" - said the authors of the appeal.

Bloggers also demanded to stop repressions according to the “anti-estimic” article, which is “so blurred” that it can be brought to anyone-“both the ultra-rule of the killer and the video bloger who simply joked about the Qur'an.”

The video bloggers Nikolai Sobolev, Ildar Khabibullin, Elena Sheidlin, Dmitry Sydenkuk, Fedor Nelchitayo, Likey, Evgeny Popadinets and Eldar Dzharakhov took part in the video recorded.

Sokolovsky, convicted of videos, was included in the list of terrorists and extremists before the sentence. All bank accounts were blocked.

After introducing the next amendments to Federal Law No. 115 in 2013 on the counteracting the legalization (laundering) of the proceeds received by criminal means and the financing of terrorism "All bank accounts of the defendants in this list are blocked. Similar laws adopted in democratic countries block only those accounts where money is received for terrorist activities. The Russian law also provides for the blocking of accounts for accruing salaries, pensions, benefits and other necessary funds.

On July 7, the Sverdlovsk Regional Court reduced the Sokolovsky period of conditional punishment from three years to two years to two years and three months. From the sentence, the accusation of illegal storage of a special tool was excluded - a handle with a video camera.

On May 11, the judge of the Verkh-Isetsky District Court Ekaterina Shoponyak found Sokolovsky guilty and sentenced to three and a half years of conditional term . At the same time, the prosecutor Ekaterina Kalinina in the debate required a blogger for three and a half years of the real term. Sokolovsky repeatedly refused to plead guilty, in the last word he stated that “he did not understand how to blame him for nationalism” and said that “did not change the opinion of religion.

Videoobloger was accused of ten episodes. Nine of them is the publication of Videsets on a personal YouTube channel. All of them are qualified under part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (excitement of national or religious hatred or enmity). It provides for up to four or up to five years in a colony depending on the dating of a particular episode: "Package of Yarovaya", which entered into force in July 2016, tightened the sanction on this charges. Part 1 of Article 148 of the Criminal Code (insulting the feelings of believers; up to a year of a real period) was also imputed under six of the nine episodes of Sokolovsky. Another one was charged with one of the same article (up to three years), however, the prosecutor refused to the debate in the debate.
