The founder of SpaceX and Tesla Elon Musk said that the main threat to humanity is artificial intelligence, reports Fortune magazine.
“In the field of artificial intelligence, I have access to the most advanced technologies. And I think that people have something to worry about," Musk said during his speech to the National Association of US Governors.
He called this the only area in which the government should intervene, also artificially limit the speed at which such technologies spread. Artificial intelligence, according to Musk, can begin to spread fake information and manipulate it.
“Robots can start a war by issuing fake news and press releases, forging email accounts and manipulating information,” he added, noting that the main danger comes from the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies on the Internet.
At the same time, Musk stressed that he opposes excessive oversight and control measures, but in the field of artificial intelligence, he considers them necessary.
