In the Kaliningrad region, police draw up reports of an administrative offense against participants in a meeting with a deputy for participation in an unauthorized rally. Rosbalt reported this on July 18.

Activist Igor Furgachev said that on July 7 there was a meeting between residents of the village of Vzmorye and the city of Svetly with a deputy of the regional Duma and candidate for governor Igor Revin. The event took place at the site near the monument to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. Representatives of law enforcement agencies also attended the meeting and asked those present who they were and why they came.

A local police officer came to Furgachev and drew up a protocol under Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code.

“They are trying to call the meeting with the deputy an unauthorized rally or meeting. I know that for some reason it was the prosecutor’s office that demanded that I and another participant be brought to justice,” Furgachev said. According to him, the second person brought to justice was local resident Yuri Zlobin. They are both activists opposing the project to build a coal power plant in Vzmorye.
