A representative of the White House confirmed that the presidents were talking during dinner, reports Reuters. It is emphasized that this was just a short conversation at the end of the event. “The insinuations that the White House tried to“ hide ”the second meeting is false, malicious and absurd,” the official said.

The representative of the White House explained the absence of an American translator by the fact that he did not speak Russian. In accordance with the protocol, at such events, the head of state is accompanied by only one translator.
