The case of a participant in the campaign against corruption on March 26 Dmitry Gerekin was transferred to the court

The case of Dmitry Gerekin, accused of applying violence against a policeman (under Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code) at the Moscow campaign against corruption on March 26, was sent to the Tver District Court. This was reported on July 20 on the website of the Investigative Committee.

The Investigative Committeecompleted the investigation in the case of Strikin on June 26. According to investigators, the man hit the fighter OMON Zvonarev on the leg. The accused himself and his defense insist that the stroke of Strikin did not occur on his leg, but on a police club. According to the defender, during the Moscow campaign against corruption, Strikin tried to join for the man who was seized by the police because he simply stood. The interests of Strikin are represented by lawyers of the international human rights group "Agora" Ilnur Sharapov and Svetlana Sidorkina.

Dmitry Gerekin, like another participant in the campaign on March 26, Stanislav Zimovets, who was today sentenced to two years and six months of the colony, refused to plead guilty. In addition, during the consideration of an arrest appeal in the Moscow City Court, he said that he was beaten during the detention on the rally on March 26. Doctors of the emergency room recorded his bruises all over his body - he received at least six strokes.

Earlier, the Tver District Court sentenced the sentences to two accused in the “case of March 26”: Yuri Kuli received eight months of a colony-settlement, and Alexander Shpakov- a year and a half of the colony of general regime . Also, the courtsentenced student Maxim Beldinov for the use of violence for the police in Volgograd to one and a half years in prison.

The SK statement also says that the agency "intends to bring to criminal liability of all persons who applied violence to representatives of the authorities during the unauthorized mass event, as well as in a similar way to react to crimes and subsequently."
