Two volunteers from Navalny’s headquarters were detained in Moscow

Two volunteers from Navalny's campaign headquarters, Anastasia Budanova and Maria Tokareva, were detained in Moscow. They walked along the Arbat with a balloon "Navalny 20! 8" and handed out propaganda newspapers to passers-by. According to Kasyan, the girls have been in the police department for more than two and a half hours. During this time, campaign materials were confiscated from them, and they also tried to take fingerprints. However, the detainees refused fingerprinting. In addition, the police do not allow a lawyer to see Budanova and Tokareva, arguing that the detainees are supposedly adults, which is why they “do not need a lawyer.”

Vitaly Serukanov, a lawyer at Navalny's headquarters, told OVD-Info that volunteers are charged with part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation by a participant of a public event of the procedure for holding it).

upd (11–41): As OVD-Info learned on July 21 from a volunteer of Navalny's headquarters in Moscow, Nikolai Kasyan, the volunteers of the campaign headquarters who were detained the night before were released from the Arbat police department on June 20 at 21–30. Anastasia Budanova and Maria Tokareva were ultimately charged with an administrative offense under Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation by a participant of a public event of the procedure for holding it).
