A criminal case has been opened in Samara after the death of a five-year-old patient in one of the city’s dental clinics. This was reported on the website of the regional department of the Investigative Committee.
The incident occurred on the morning of July 23. Doctors began a general anesthesia procedure and put the five-year-old patient into a state of medicated sleep. According to investigators, after the administration of several drugs, the child experienced a heart rhythm disturbance.
Despite resuscitation measures, the child died. The Investigative Committee opened a case of causing death by negligence due to improper performance of professional duties (Article 109 of the Criminal Code). Investigators are now looking for those involved in the child's death.
Volga News The prosecutor's office of the Oktyabrsky district of Samara told that the boy died after general anesthesia at the private dental clinic "Praktika" on Lenin Avenue. The child came there with his parents: presumably, the boy had caries.
The boy's body was sent to the medical examiner's office to determine the exact cause of his death. Employees of the district prosecutor's office will now check how the Praktika dental clinic complies with federal legislation.
