A bas-relief with Gogol fell off from the “House with Writers”
A bas-relief with Nikolai Gogol fell off the Moscow House with Writers. This was reported by the public movement "Arhnadzor". The wreckage was taken away by local residents.
The tenement house, on which stucco friezes with writers (including Leo Tolstoy and Alexander Pushkin) are installed, was built in 1907. According to one version, the friezes were originally intended for the Museum of Fine Arts on Volkhonka.
In recent years, the figures of writers have been gradually destroyed. Local residents asked to restore them, but restoration work has not begun.
