The prosecution asks to extend the consideration of the case of human rights activist Tatyana Kotlyar

Human rights activist Tatyana Kotlyar, who is accused of fictitious registration of a foreign citizen in a residential building, failed to make her final statement in court on July 24. She wrote on Facebook that the prosecutor asked to return the case to the stage of judicial investigation. “She needs to check the information about my presidential grant and my Prize. And he wants to interrogate someone!” Kotlyar writes.

Since Kotlyar's defense counsel was not present at the meeting, the justice of the peace of court district No. 15 of Obninsk (Kaluga region) postponed the consideration of this petition of the prosecutor to August 9 at 14:30.

The case against Kotlyar was initiated due to the fact that she registered 187 people in her own apartment, the vast majority of whom are refugees from the Lugansk and Donetsk regions of Ukraine. This was done free of charge and only in order to help people obtain citizenship of the Russian Federation - in order to apply for citizenship, registration at the place of residence is required.

In 2014, the Obninsk human rights activist was already prosecuted for registering migrants in her apartment. On November 9, 2015, the human rights activist was found guilty and fined 150 thousand rubles and immediately amnestied.
