The creator of The Simpsons will release an animated series on Netflix

The Simpsons creator Matt Groening will release an animated comedy series on Netflix in 2018. Deadline reports.

The series will be called Disenchantment. It will consist of at least two seasons of ten episodes each.

Set in the fairy-tale kingdom of Dreamland (Dreamland, "the realm of dreams"), "Disenchantment" will feature "a young drinking princess, Bean, her feisty elf friend Elfo, and her personal demon Lucy." They will be voiced by actors and comedians Abbi Jacobson, Nat Faxon and Eric Andre.

“Ultimately, Disillusionment will be about life and death, love and sex, and how to keep laughing in a world full of misery and idiots — despite what the elders, wizards, and other assholes say,” Groening said.

• Matt Groening is an American cartoonist best known as the creator of The Simpsons and one of the writers of Futurama. In January 2016, it became known that he was working on a series for the Netflix service.
