The coordinator of Navalny's headquarters in Volgograd was charged with rehabilitating Nazism

The coordinator of the campaign headquarters of Alexei Navalny in Volgograd, Alexei Volkov, was officially charged with the rehabilitation of Nazism. This was reported on the website of the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee.

Volkov is charged under Part 3 of Art. 354.1 (“public desecration of the symbol of Russian military glory”). As desecration, the investigation interprets the publication on the Internet of a picture in which the famous monument "Motherland" seems to be doused with green paint. The investigation claims that the picture was posted by Volkov "with the help of electronic devices belonging to him."

Earlier, Volkov was involved in this case as a suspect. The report of the investigative department says that during the interrogation in the new status, Volkov, as before, refused to testify, taking advantage of the 51st article of the Constitution.

The picture with the monument was published on March 20. This was perceived as a kind of response to the attack on Navalny in Barnaul, when an unknown person doused the politician with green paint. was published on the VKontakte social network on the page of Navalny's Team in Volgograd, On March 23, a post stating that "one of the volunteers" posted an "inappropriate" picture. The authors of the post apologized and said that the picture was “long removed”.
