Valery Gergiev will perform at the Pacific Music Festival in Japan

Today, July 27, a series of concerts of the orchestra of the Pacific Music Festival under the direction of Valery Gergiev, which will be held in four cities of Japan, begins.

The program has the ninth Schubert Symphony, the overture for the Tanniger opera Richard Wagner, the first concert for the violin with the Bruch orchestra, the solo in which the Rainer Kuchel (Austria) and Daniel Lozakovich (Sweden) will be solo.

The first performance will take place in the concert hall of the city of Tomakomay (July 27), then the orchestra will go to Sapporo (July 29 and 30), where the motet “Exsultate, Jubilate” of Mozart and the anthem of the Pacific music festival “Jupiter” to the music fragment of the planet Gustav Holstoy will also be performed.

On July 31, the orchestra of the Pacific Music Festival will be performed under the control of Valery Gergiev on the stage of the concert hall of the city of Kavasaki, and on August 1 the festival will end with a concert at one of the largest venues in Japan - Kaikan Bunka in Tokyo.

The Pacific Music Festival , whose artistic director Valery Gergiev has been founded by Leonard Bernstayn in 1990 since 2015.

The festival orchestra is played by 90 musicians aged 18 to 29 years, who are selected according to the results of listening around the world. For four weeks, they improve their skills under the guidance of conductors and musicians of famous symphonic orchestras, and then represent prepared programs at the main concert venues of Japan. During the existence of the festival, more than 3,300 young musicians from 76 countries of the world took part in it.
