The booker long list has been declared

Today, July 27, a “long list” of books applying for the Buker Prize of 2017 has been published.

The list, which is given on the Prize website, 13 works of writers from Great Britain, India, Ireland, Pakistan and the USA, including the novel by Colson Whitehead "Underground Railway", which received the Pulitzer Prize this year.

Long list of the 2017 Buker Prize:

• “4 3 2 1” - Paul Oster (USA);
• “Days without end” - Sebastian Barry (Ireland);
• "History of Wolves" - Emily Friedlund (USA);
• "Exit West"-Mohsin Hamid (Pakistan-Greatbrin);
• “Solar Bones” - Mike McCormak (Ireland);
• “Reservoir 13” - John McGregor (Great Britain);
• "Elmet" - Fiona Mosley (Great Britain);
• "Ministry of Utmost Happiness" - Arundati Roy (India);
• Lincoln in the Bardo - George Saunders (USA);
• "Home Fire"-Camila Shamsi (Great Britain-Pakistan);
• "Autumn" - Ali Smith (Great Britain);
• “Swing Time” - Zedi Smith (Great Britain);
• The Underground Railroad is Kolson Whitehead (USA).

By September 13, the jury of the Buker Prize will select six finalist books from this list. The winner of the award and the owner of a cash prize of 50 thousand pounds will be announced in London on October 17.

Last year, the award was awarded to the novel “ The Sell” Paul Bitty, which became the first laureate from the United States over the 48-year history of Boker.
