The Department for the Investigation of Particularly important cases of the Office of the Investigative Committee of the Altai Territory completed an investigation into a criminal case instituted against the neo -wounded man Natalia Telegina. The 41-year-old resident of Barnaul is accused of the fact that in 2014–2016 she, adhering to the negative views “in relation to religion and persons belonging to the natives of the Caucasus”, published several pictures with texts on her page, who allegedly excite national hatred and enmity, express a clear disrespect for society and insulting religious feelings and insulting religious feelings believers. Natalia Telegin was charged under Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (excitement of hatred) and part 1 of Article 148 of the Criminal Code (insulting the feelings of believers). At the same time, an application for a woman under Article 282 of the Criminal Code was submitted by the head of the neopagan community Asatra of St. Petersburg, Yevgeny Saltykov, also known as Sigvald God. Article 148 of the Criminal Code was added to the charges on the initiative of the investigation.
In his opinion, the placement of anti -religious images in the social network, including pictures with a warrior in a horned helmet, which is covered with a hammer over the silhouette of a burning temple, Telegin allegedly encouraged religious intolerance and discredited the movement of Asatra. According to Owls, the persecution of Telegin under Article 148 of the Criminal Code is unlawful due to the fact that "the concept of" insulting the feelings of believers "should be excluded from the Criminal Code as not having a clear legal meaning."
