Over the five years of the existence of the register of prohibited sites, Roskomnadzor introduced about 275 thousand Internet resources to it. This was reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the department. More than 74 thousand sites are currently in the process of blocking.
According to Roskomnadzor, more than 97 thousand resources were included in the register on the basis of court decisions on the recognition of information prohibited for distribution in Russia. In second place are the resources that propagate drug distribution - more than 70 thousand. About 43 thousand Internet pages are blocked for the illegal organization and conduct of online excitement games and lotteries, more than 38 thousand are included in the register for children's pornography and more than 25 thousand-for suicidal content.
At the same time, 178 thousand resources were excluded from the registry, since their owners at the request of the RKN deleted the prohibited information.
A significant part of the forbidden content is distributed using social networks. So, according to Roskomnadzor, about 60 thousand pages were blocked over five years of the law on social networks. The vast majority, more than 48 thousand, were in VKontakte. The smallest number of locks was on Facebook - a little more than 630.
The press service of Roskomnadzor noted that the agency is actively interacting with the administrations of large social networks and Internet portals. "Thanks to this, 70 percent of prohibited information is removed by Internet resources and sites on their own. They do not delete illegitimate content mainly sites specializing in the distribution of prohibited information," the RKN said.
On June 30, 2012, President Vladimir Putin signed a law on restriction of access to sites with information banned in Russia. The law prescribes the creation of a single register of domain names, signs of sites and network addresses to be blocked. The register began work on November 1, 2012.
The standard blocking procedure implies the recognition of content to be unlawful by court decision. However, Roskomnadzor, in accordance with the law on the extrajudicial blocking of sites known as the Lugovoi Law, which entered into force on February 1, 2014, can be limited to RKN access at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
Among the first resources that have undergone extra -court blocking for "calls for illegal activities and participation in mass measures carried out in violation of the established procedure" were the "boundary" . Access to our publication in Russia is closed from March 13, 2014. RKN has already blocked more than 700 mirrors of "faces".
