The administration of Petrozavodsk banned the picket of Navalny supporters

On July 26, the administration of Petrozavodsk forbade representatives of Alexei Navalny's election headquarters to hold a picket and set up a campaign cube. This is reported by "7 × 7" with reference to the representative of the Petrozavodsk headquarters Artem Kornyshov.

The administration's response states that the installation of the cube and the picket are illegal, and during it all participants will be detained and held accountable under Part 3 of Art. 17 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation and part 1 of Art. 34 of the Law on Basic Guarantees of Electoral Rights of Citizens. The administration justified its response by saying that "Aleksey Navalny does not have a passive right to vote in the presidential elections in Russia for committing a serious crime and does not have the right to be elected."

Supporters of Alexei Navalny have applied to the administration of Petrozavodsk to hold pickets on August 5 and 6. The documents were accepted from the activists on July 26. In the application, they indicated that they would inform "citizens about the public campaign for the nomination of Alexei Navalny as a candidate for the presidency of the Russian Federation."

On July 23, in Petrozavodsk, police officers interrupted a rally of supporters of politician Alexei Navalny because, in their opinion, the declared and actual purpose of the rally did not match.
