The former President of Georgia, the ex-head of the Odessa Regional State Administration, Mikhail Saakashvili, intends to go to court in connection with the deprivation of his citizenship of Ukraine. He stated this in an interview with Ukrainian Truth.

"We will go to the administrative court. If the administrative court does not work, then we will go to Strasbourg," Saakashvili said.

Saakashvili said that Russian President Vladimir Putin demanded to remove him "from Ukrainian politics and governorship." “Putin was very worried that I was in Odessa. In the summer of 2016, he sent a FSB group, which rented all the apartments around my residence to find a compromising evidence on me. But then they were recalled because the Russians received guarantees that they would remove me from the post of governor,” said the ex -head of the Odessa Regional State Administration.

After that, Petro Poroshenko suggested Saakashvili to go to the Netherlands or Southeast Asia. To this, the ex-governor refused.

Saakashvili said he was mistaken in Poroshenko. “My most important mistake was that I initially misunderstood Poroshenko’s motivation. He really really had money to earn money. This man remained a banal bargain,” Saakashvili emphasized.

According to Saakashvili, after the confrontation of the provision of Arseniy Yatsenyuk, an "oligarchic agreement" occurred in Ukraine. Poroshenko and the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov "simply divided the country among themselves."

"In the end, it turned out the most ugly government in the history of Ukraine. Poroshenko simply went to monstrous transactions with Avakov. These were transactions not just at the government level, but at the level of control over deposits, over state assets, over the streams of customs," Saakashvili said. He called the current government of Ukraine "incompetent."

On Wednesday, Poroshenko deprived Saakashvili of Ukrainian citizenship. The State Migration Service of Ukraine specified that Saakashvili reported “incorrect information” in the questionnaire of citizenship applicant. He wrote that he was not under investigation in Ukraine or beyond, while in reality he was arrested in absentia at that time.

Saakashvili received a Ukrainian passport on May 29, 2015, and the next day he was appointed governor of the Odessa region. On November 7, 2016, he resigned from this post , accusing Poroshenko of the support of two Odessa corruption clans.
