Putin signed the law on "death groups"

President Vladimir Putin signed a law on tightening responsibility for declining to suicide. This was reported on the Kremlin website.

On July 21, the law adopted the third reading of the State Duma. In the last Tuesday, he was approved by the Federation Council.

Amendments are made to part 4 of Article 110.1 of the Criminal Code (declining to suicide, which resulted in suicide or attempt on it). Now for such actions will face from five to ten years in a colony.

According to the new edition of part 5 of the same article, if the suicide committed or tried to commit a minor, pregnant woman or a person in a helpless state, then declining to him is punishable by imprisonment for a term of six to twelve years.

Part 6 is included in the article: it says that if an attacker bowed two or more persons to suicide, then he threatens from eight to fifteen years of the colony.

Punishment under Article 110.2 of the Criminal Code is also tightened (organization of activities aimed at motivating suicide, by spreading calls to suicide or information about its methods). Part 1 of the article for this will threaten from five to ten years in the colony. If the information was distributed in a public speech, through the Internet or the media, then according to part 2 of the same article, the defendants can plant the case for a period of five to fifteen years.

In addition, deputies strengthened liability under part 1 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code (bringing to suicide). For this it will be possible to get from eight to fifteen years.

In May, the State Duma adopted amendments to the Criminal Code , tightening responsibility for bringing to suicide and introducing several new articles against “death groups” to the Code: 110.1, 110.2, 151.2 (involving a minor in an activity that is dangerous for his life, provides for imprisonment for a period of up to a year, if there are aggravating circumstances - up to three years). In all new articles, an aggravating circumstance is considered to commit a crime through a public speech, using the media or the Internet.
