American bombers flew over the Korean peninsula

Two American super-sound bomber B-1 flew over the Korean peninsula to demonstrate force after missile tests in the DPRK. It is reported by the Associated Press with reference to the Pacific command of the US Air Force.

It is reported that the planes flew at a low altitude above the air base near Seoul, accompanied by South Korean fighters. Having completed the flight, the bombers returned to the Andersen air base at Guam.

The US Pacific command and the US Air Force said that the flight was a response to the launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles of the DPRK, held in July. According to the commander of the Air Force of the Pentagon in the Pacific Ocean, General Terrens O'Shonnesi, the American military are responsible for the safety of South Korea and, if necessary, are ready to apply force at any time.

The agency notes that the United States is not the first time to carry out demonstration flights over Korea. This year, B-1 bombers appeared several times over the Korean peninsula after Pyongyang’s missile tests and the death of the American student Otto Wermra in June, who returned to his homeland in a coma after being concluded in the DPRK.

On Friday, North Korea held a second launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile. The missile was launched at 23:41 local time (17:41 Moscow time) from the Chagando province in the north of the country. She was in flight for about 45 minutes and fell into the sea in the exclusive economic zone of Japan, but not in the territorial waters of the country. It was the fourteenth missile test of the DPRK in the year.

Experts believe that in the zone of damage to the new rocket tested by Pyongyang, there are most of the US continental territory, including such large cities as Los Angeles and Chicago.

The US State Department has assigned responsibility for Russia and China for the escalation of the North Korean threat. The American diplomatic department urged to strengthen the UN sanctions against the DPRK.

On July 4, Pyongyang for the first time successfully experienced an intercontinental ballistic missile. The launch was made from the Banghyon air base near the border with China.
