In Penza, activists from the campaign headquarters of Alexei Navalny received permission to install a campaign cube in the city center on Fontannaya Square. This happened after a month of debate between the activists and the city administration, reports Kasparov . Ru with reference to the headquarters coordinator Anton Strunin.
The Leninsky District Court of Penza declared illegal seven reasons for the city administration not to coordinate the pickets in the declared places. After that, on July 29, the activists of Navalny's headquarters for the first time held an agreed-upon picket where they wanted.
“The administration ran out of excuses, and, following another court decision, they were forced to agree with our legal requirements and agree on holding a cube in the very center of the city - on Fontannaya Square!” - said the coordinator of the headquarters.
Within a month, activists from Navalny's campaign headquarters in Penza received more than 200 refusals from the local administration to hold rallies. Every day they filed several notifications for holding pickets in different parts of the city. The mayor's office refused everything, stating that the pickets would allegedly interfere with the movement of pedestrians or that another mass event was planned at the indicated place.
