The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow extended the detention of Dmitry Krepkin, a defendant in the March 26 Case, for six months. An OVD-Info correspondent reported this from the court. Krepkin is accused of using violence against a police officer during an anti-corruption rally on March 26.

On Monday, July 31, a preliminary hearing in the Krepkin case was held, it was held behind closed doors.

According to investigators, the man hit riot policeman Zvonarev in the leg. The accused himself and his defense insist that Krepkin’s blow fell not on the leg, but on the police baton. According to the defense lawyer, during a Moscow protest against corruption, Krepkin tried to stand up for a man who was seized by police for simply standing. Krepkin’s interests are represented by lawyers of the Agora International Human Rights Group Ilnur Sharapov and Svetlana Sidorkina.

The injured police officer did not seek medical help and did not write a report about the discovery of signs of a crime. At the same time, in his testimony, riot policeman Zvonarev claims that he allegedly experienced “severe physical pain” from the blow.

Dmitry Krepkin, like another participant in the March 26 action, Stanislav Zimovets, who was sentenced to two years and six months in prison, refused to admit guilt.

In addition, during the consideration of the arrest appeal in the Moscow City Court, he stated that he was beaten during his arrest at the rally on March 26. Emergency room doctors recorded bruises all over his body - he received at least six blows.

Earlier, the Tverskoy District Court sentenced two more defendants in the “March 26 Case”: Yuri Kuliy received eight months in a penal colony, and Alexander Shpakov received a year and a half in a general regime colony . Also, for using violence against the police at a rally in Volgograd, the courtsentenced student Maxim Beldinov to one and a half years of suspended imprisonment.
