A Bryansk resident who was blown up by a WWII grenade has become involved in a case of illegal storage of ammunition.

Bryansk police found ammunition at the home of a 43-year-old resident of the village of Belye Berega, who was blown up by a grenade during the Great Patriotic War. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Bryansk region.

According to the police, on the afternoon of July 30, a resident of the village of Belye Berega tried to disassemble a WWII-era grenade found in the forest and blew himself up on it. The man was taken to the hospital with shrapnel lacerations.

The police searched the victim's house. During the search, other ammunition was found (which was not specified), as well as metal detectors and tools for excavations.

Bryansk Investigation Department No. 4 opened a case against the man for illegal possession of ammunition (Part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code). Now the man faces up to four years in prison and a large fine.
