The teacher from Sergiev Posad decided to run for deputies. Officials regarded the nomination as a “challenge”, it no longer works at school

With the winner of the “Teacher of the Year - 2012” contest, Alexander Demakhin, did not extend the contract in the Olbinsky gymnasium in Sergiev Posad. Demakhin wrote on Facebook on July 31 that he would no longer work in school, explaining this by the fact that the local authorities do not like his participation in the city’s public life. Demakhin is running for elections to the Sergiev Posad City Council of Deputies from the Yabloko party.

In a conversation with Medusa, Demakhin clarified that the director of the gymnasium Olga Filimonova called him and announced the indication that she received from the Department of the Education of Sergiev Posad - not to extend the employment contract with him. “The director has nothing to do with it, she is a very honest person, all questions for management, to officials,” Demakhin said.

Demakhin’s nomination to deputies was regarded by local officials as a “challenge”. He said that after his name appeared on party lists, “people from the Education Department” wrote to him that “this is the wrong decision”, which “hurts” them. “I am not an ardent oppositionist and did not expect that my nomination would become a reason for the shares addressed to me, I honestly wanted to participate in the life of the city and bear responsibility for what is happening there,” Demakhin said.

When Demakhin came to the city election commission to submit documents, he found people standing in single pickets dedicated to his nomination. The picketers held the posters: "Stop demakhin!" And "There is no sodomy in the heart of Orthodoxy!" As Demakhin explains, he was remembered by his two performances that he staged in Sergiev Posad: in the gymnasium and on an independent platform. “The school performance - it was two years ago - was considered too free, and in last year’s performance, staged based on Michael Cunningham’s novel“ House on the edge of the world ”, there is a topic of homosexual relations, but we played it only for adults,” Demakhin explains. “We got everything that can be taken to me.” The teacher believes that the organizers of the pickets are people close to the administration of Sergiev Posad.

The gymnasium says that they do not know about Demakhin’s nomination from the Yabloko party and were not going to terminate labor relations with him. The acting director - she refused to call her name - told Medusa that Demakhin's contract ended on May 31, but no applications for working for the next school year (this is a mandatory procedure) received from him. “He generally lives and works for two cities now: Sergiev Posad and St. Petersburg (Demakhin confirmed that he also works in the St. Petersburg BDT named after Tovstonogov.- “ Medusa ” ), and in the gymnasium he led only one subject-world artistic culture,” said the director. - Last year, Mr. Demakhin tried to go into directing, but decided to bring his subject. If now he finally decided to retrain, the gymnasium cannot interfere with him. ” When asked how the gymnasium applies to the fact that Demakhin wants to be elected from the Yabloko party, the school replied that the educational process is not related to politics.

In a similar way, RBC answered the Office of the Education of Sergiev Posad. Its boss Olga Dudareva told the publication that if the teacher wants to continue to cooperate with the gymnasium, "he will be hired and he will not be refused the position of teacher of the ICC." She added that Demakhin was dismissed in accordance with the agreement on May 31 - and the process of nomination of candidates for municipal elections began only in July.

The head of the Sergiev Posad district, Mikhail Tokarev, said Demakhin ran for deputies in the status of the unemployed. According to him, Demakhin submitted documents to the territorial election commission, where he indicated that he was temporarily non -working. “The decision on the registration of candidate Demakhin to the TIC elections is made on August 3. Further September 10, on a single voting day, residents will be made a decision, ”Tokarev said.

Demakhin confirmed “Medusa” that in the 2016-2017 academic year, he led only one part-time subject in the gymnasium-its load was eight hours a week-and its contract expired on May 31 (this is standard practice: contracts with part-time workers are valid from September 1 to May 31). According to him, he really thought to completely complete the work in the gymnasium, and the situation with the non -transmission of the contract was the “last straw” for him.

"Yabloko" stood up for the teacher. Deputy Chairman of the Party Nikolai Rybakov told Medusa that the party will ensure that the contract with Demakhin is extended: “The main thing now is not to harm and at the same time achieve the result. I hope that the leadership of the education department will change its decision and he will continue his work. ”

Demakhin said that he was grateful for the party’s attempt to defend him. “I have no task to stay at school, I do not want to be touched, she is wonderful,” he added. - But my direct employer is not a school, but a department of education. And while it is what it is, to work in this system is wrong. ”
