In Kurgan, on August 1, representatives of the city hall in the presence of police officers tore off the campaign picket of volunteers of the local election headquarters Alexei Navalny. The action took place in the Gide Park zone in the Central Park of Culture and Rest on a special platform allotted for public events. This was reported in the group "Navalny's team | Kurgan" on the social network "VKontakte".
Representatives of the administration demanded that the activists stop the action, declaring it “unauthorized”. Employees of the City Hall argued by the fact that the holding of pickets in the "Hyde Park" supposedly needs to be coordinated with the mayor. The volunteers insisted on the opposite, but soon they had to remove the campaign cube and leave the park.
“As soon as our team managed to assemble and put a cube in a place, representatives of the city administration immediately arose. The children were declared our event “inconsistent” (and therefore illegal) and gave 5 minutes to turn the structure.
Notification. About the action in the Hyde Park. Seriously?
But according to the administration, the pickets are not included in the list of events allowed for conducting on a special site. Hmm, some kind of inconsistent here, it seems. It's about a guide park, isn't it? We tried to convey the original wording from the legislation to employees, but what does the law mean for those who live according to concepts? We were informed that we are struck and falsely interpret the laws, ”the Navalny team said in a statement.
