Today, August 2, the judge of the Supreme Court of Tatarstan Ramil Malikov dismissed the appeal of Lilia Sufiyarova, who was detained during an anti-corruption rally on June 12 near the Kazan Kremlin. Earlier, on June 13, the Vakhitovsky District Court sentenced her to 35 hours of compulsory labor under Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation by a participant of the rules for holding a public event).
The defender of Sufiyarova, the lawyer of Open Law, Elza Nisanbekova, during today's meeting, asked the court to cancel the decision to appoint her client to compulsory work. According to Nisanbekova, Lilia Sufiyarova did not take part in the public event, since the action on June 12 was a walk, not a procession. However, the court did not agree with the arguments of the defender, leaving the decision of the district court in force, and the complaint was not satisfied.
Earlier, the Supreme Court of Tatarstan approved the punishments imposed on other participants in the action on June 12 - Angelina Malyshko, Dinara Ibragimov and Elena Stepanova . Malyshko and Ibragimov were also sentenced to 35 hours of compulsory labor, Stepanova was fined 15,000 rubles.
