Human Rights Watch human rights organization demanded to cancel two new Russian laws, which provide for mandatory identification of messengers and prohibit the use of software to circumvent sites blocking. The human rights organization believes that these laws threaten the freedom of expression on the network.
Both laws were signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on July 30. Funds for obtaining access to blocked resources themselves will be blocked if they do not limit access to information prohibited in Russia. The FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will identify violators. The law on messengers obliges the administration of services to establish the identity of users by phone number.
The international human rights organization Amnesty International condemned the Russian law on the ban on the country of anomizer programs and VPN services. Russia, according to the report of the human rights organization Freedom House for 2016, is one of the 20 countries with the "non -free Internet." In July, human rights activists Human Rights Watch also announced the pressure on Internet users in Russia.
