Contractors with restrictions at the entrance will not be allowed to euro -government

The organizers of the Eurovision Song Contest banned the participation of performers with restrictions on entering the country where the competition is being held. This was reported by the German television channel ARD. The European Broadcasting Union made changes to the regulations after the Ukrainian authorities did not let the Russian singer Yulia Samoilov into the country. She violated Ukrainian laws, speaking at a concert in the annexed Crimea in 2015.

The organizers of the competition emphasized that Eurovision is a non -political competition. As noted in the regulations, all broadcasting companies involved in the competition should make every effort so as not to politicize the competition. The ARD channel notes that a new ban can create problems for participants with HIV infection. The legislation of a number of countries does not allow people with this disease to cross the border.

Russia was going to send singer Yulia Samoilov to Eurovision 2017 in Kyiv. The Security Service of Ukraine forbade the contractor to enter the country. The organizers of Eurovision invited Russia to organize Samoilova’s speech through a television conference or send another participant to the competition. Moscow rejected both options and refused to broadcast the competition.
