Russia will change the ambassador in Germany

The new ambassador of Russia to Germany, presumably, will be the director of the Third European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Nechaev. About this "Kommersant" was told by a source in diplomatic circles.

The current Russian ambassador Vladimir Grinin will soon return to Moscow. Officially, personnel permutations will be announced after the approval of the candidate with the State Duma, the Federation Council and President Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, Grinin said that "relations between Russia and Germany today are going through the best of times." The diplomat added that "in a certain sense, they are tested for strength."

Grinin became the Russian ambassador to Germany in 2010, before that he was an ambassador to Austria, Finland and Poland. In November, he will be 70 years old. As noted by the publication, this is the maximum age for civil servants.

Nechaev has been working at the Foreign Ministry since 1977, from 2010 to 2015 he was the Russian Ambassador to Austria, and then headed the Third European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
