Special prosecutor Robert Müller, who heads the investigation of the possible intervention of Russia in the American elections in 2016, called a large jury of jury. It is reported by Wall Street Journal.

A large jury has been operating for several weeks, the sources of the publication said. The use of this legal instrument allows the special prosecutor to write out the subpoenas and court orders, call witnesses to testify, request documents. According to the publication, the convocation of the jury means that the investigation takes “serious and protracted in nature” and can lead to criminal charges.

A large jury consists of ordinary citizens. It works closed. The jury should decide whether there are enough good evidence to charge and criminal prosecution in court. However, the large jury does not consider the question of the guilt of the defendant.

The spokeswoman for the special prosecutor refused to comment. The special legal adviser of the White House Tai Cobb told the publication that he did not know about the formation of a new jury. At the same time, he emphasized that the administration of Donald Trump does everything to speed up the investigation and collaborates with Müller.

The large jury has already discharged a number of summons in connection with the meeting of the son of Trump with Russian lawyer Natalya Veselnitskaya, reports Reuters.

Meanwhile, Trump himself, speaking in the state of West Virginia, said that the information about the “Russian trace” distributed by the Democrats during his election campaign is “completely fabricated”. According to the US president, the goal of the appearance of such information was the democrats attempts to "justify the greatest defeat in the history of American politics." Trump noted that instead of inventing the “Russian history”, one should deal with email from the electronic mail candidate from the Democratic Party Hillary Clinton. The President also blamed her to receive donations from the Uranium One associated with Russia.

On May 18, the Deputy Minister of Justice of the United States, Rod Rosenstein, appointed special prosecutor to investigate Russia's intervention in the Presidential campaign of Müller, director of the FBI in 2001-2013. Prior to this, the investigation was conducted by James Komi, who served as director of the FBI after Muller. However, on May 9, Trump resigned Komi .

Between Trump said after the appointment of Muller: "As I already said many times, a thorough investigation will confirm what we already know: there was no conspiracy between my team and any foreign structures."
