This week on Ilyin's day in the church of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, under SIZO-2, a not quite ordinary prayer was served-“On the Predict of Justice”. The idea belongs to the priest of the Intercession Church, Archpriest Konstantin Kobelev, who was known for creating a public group in support of the accused of theft of Maxim Khokhlov, whose guilt the clergyman considers dubious.
The need for a prayer service “On the administration of justice”, according to the priest, is caused by the frequent practice of condemning innocent in Russia. He hopes that thanks to such prayers, “the Lord will save prisoners from judges or bias” and that “neither slander, nor for permits, nor bribery, nor other that, from human weakness,” will not be able to influence the court.

On the same day, three defendants were baptized in the temple at a pre -trial detention center.
The temple of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the Butyrskaya prison (1782) is the oldest of the preserved prison temple buildings in Moscow. After the 1917 revolution, the church was closed, later a prison hospital and a medical unit were located in it. In the 2000s, the temple was completely restored.
