
An annual inflation in Russia in July first dropped below the target and amounted to 3.9%. This is evidenced by the data of Rosstat.
The Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of the Russian Federation predicted a slowdown in annual inflation only to 4.3%, and the Ministry of Economic Development expected inflation at 4–4.2%.
According to Rosstat, inflation in Russia in July amounted to 0.1%. At the same time, the consensus prognosis of economists in July, prepared by Interfax, was 0.4%. The Ministry of Economic Development expected inflation in July at 0.2–0.4%.
In June, according to Rosstat, inflation amounted to 4.4% compared to June 2016. The Ministry of Economic Development explained the growth in inflation “the dynamics of prices for fruit and vegetable products, the conduct of the Confederations Cup and the change in the ruble exchange rate.
The Central Bank predicts the inflation rate in 2017 in 4%, the Ministry of Economic Development - 3.8%. The Russians estimated the level of annual inflation at about 12%.
