Switzerland terminated the case against the ex-head of the Ministry of Agriculture Skrynnik

The Switzerland prosecutor's office closed the case of money laundering in relation to the ex-head of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture Elena Skrynnik, Blik reports . The ex-minister again has access to all bank accounts, which had previously been seized.

The prosecutor’s office of Switzerland said that the decision was due to the fact that there was no evidence for confirming the facts of money laundering due to the “incomplete fulfillment of agreements on mutual legal assistance”.

On October 28, 2015, it was reported that the Swiss authorities arrested Skrynnik accounts in the amount of 60 million francs (about $ 57 million) as part of an investigation into a criminal case of money laundering. A day earlier, it became known that the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office sent a request to Switzerland about the arrest of 12 million francs on the accounts of the former deputy Skrynnik Alexei Bazhanov.

At the same time, it was argued that the ex-head of the Ministry of Agriculture constantly lives on the azure bank.

On October 29 of the same year, United Russia announced the exclusion of Skrynnik from the party . The basis for this was called "actions discrediting the party, as well as loss of communication with the political organization." It was noted that the former official "lives abroad for a long time." At the same time, in the EP they refuted the connection of the decision with the claims of the Swiss authorities to Skrynnik.

On the same day, Interfax reported with reference to a certain source “familiar with the situation”, which in the case, investigated by the Department of the Prosecutor General of Switzerland, along with Skrynnik appeared her brother and wife of her brother.

On November 12, 2015, an employee of the Geneva Lawyer Office of Jacquemoud Stanislas, Alexander Vikhlyaev, representing the interests of a former official in Switzerland, said that the country's prosecutor’s office has no complaints about it, "did not send a summons with a call for interrogation, did not apply to other countries with requests for blocking its accounts." There are also no complaints about the relatives of the former official, as well as to firms affiliated with her, the Swiss supervisory department also, the lawyer added.

Skrynnik headed the Ministry of Agriculture in 2009-2012. In February 2013, she was interrogated as a witness in the case of the theft in Rosagrolysing, which she led before the appointment of the Minister. The former official was not under investigation - the investigators stated that Skrynnik was not known about the theft committed by her subordinates.
