On August 7, volunteers from the Animal Rescue Team caught a meter-long iguana in the Kiev region. The animal was discovered by a local resident who mistook the lizard for a dinosaur. “I’ve already eaten the entire zucchini harvest and trampled the beds,” she told animal rights activists.
Volunteers believe that the iguana was domestic, but escaped from its owner. She was severely emaciated and dehydrated. Animal rights activists handed the lizard over to the veterinary clinic at the Kiev Zoo.
