The court returned to the police materials about the detention of Pussy Riot members

The Yakut City Court returned to the police the materials of the administrative case of two members of the Pussy Riot punk band Maria Alyokhina and Olga Borisova to correct mistakes. The girls were detained for an unauthorized action of solidarity with the Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov. It is reported by Interfax.

A rally in support of the director took place on August 6 on the bridge next to correctional colony No. 1 in Yakutsk, where Oleg Sentsov is currently being held. On Monday, the protesters were detained and taken to the police department, they are accused of violating the rules for holding a public action. After that, the activists were taken to court.

On August 25, the North Caucasus District Military Court found director Oleg Sentsov guilty on charges of creating a terrorist community (part 1 of article 205.4 of the Criminal Code), participating in two terrorist attacks (paragraph "a" of part 2 of article 205 of the Criminal Code), and preparing to commit two terrorist acts (Part 1, Article 30 and paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Section 205 of the Criminal Code) and illegal trafficking in weapons and explosives (Part 3 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code) and sentenced him in total to 20 years in prison with the execution of punishment in a strict regime colony.
