The verdict was announced on August 2. The lawyer contacted Nochevnov after he was found guilty of insulting the feelings of believers (Part 1, Article 148 of the Criminal Code).
The court ruled that Nochevnov was influenced by ideas expressing extreme intolerance towards Christians, began to oppose social norms and show aggression towards believers. The court decision states that the reason for Nochevnov's act was the "lack of established principles of behavior, as well as correctly formed critical abilities."
Nochevnov reposted seven cartoons with Jesus Christ during the Christian holidays from October 20, 2014 to August 31, 2015. On them, Jesus Christ is depicted hanging on a horizontal bar, dancing in a stadium, exercising on a sports equipment and in the form of a weightlifter against the backdrop of the Olympic rings.
During the process, the rector of one of the local churches Andrei Dubrovsky spoke. Referring in his speech to the dogma of the universal Christian church of 787 , he called these cartoons a provocation, blasphemy and an insult to the feelings of Christians.
Nochevnov did not admit his guilt, because he did not want to offend anyone, lawyer Popkov tells the publication. The defender will appeal against the verdict of the Sochi court.
