The court in St. Petersburg recognized the fine for participation in the #Tired protest as legal

On August 8, the St. Petersburg City Court upheld a fine of 10,000 rubles imposed on a local resident, Sergei Lunts, for participating in the #Tired April 29 action. This was reported on Facebook by the lawyer of the public movement "Honest Petersburg" Nikita Sorokin.

On April 29, Lunts, along with eight other detainees, was taken to Department No. 51 of the Moskovsky District. They all drew up protocols on violation of the procedure for holding public events (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) and released them.

On May 12, the Petrogradsky District Court fined Lunts 10,000 rubles.

During the consideration of the case in the court of appeal, which took three days, the defense tried to challenge the decision of the Petrogradsky District Court, in particular, due to the fact that Lunts is a voting member of the precinct election commission, which means that it was impossible to prosecute in the administrative case without the permission of the prosecutor.

According to Dimitry Yu-Ilyin on Facebook, during the meeting on August 3, the consent of the city prosecutor to bring Lunts to administrative responsibility was attached to the case materials. However, as the defense managed to find out, the consent was dated July 7, while the decision of the Petrogradsky District Court was issued on May 12.
