The Basmanny District Court of Moscow extended until October 11 the term of arrest of Alexei Politikov, who is accused of using violence against a policeman during the dispersal of the rally on March 26. this on August 8, Mediazona reports citing Open Russia activist Polina Nemirovskaya, who, in turn, referred to lawyer Sergei Badamshin.

Aleksey Politikov, an associate of Artpodgotovka movement leader Vyacheslav Maltsev, was detained during a search of Maltsev's house on June 10. The next day, the Basmanny Court arrested him. The investigation believes that on March 26, Politikov used violence, not dangerous to life and health, to the captain of the police of the second operational regiment of the Moscow Central Internal Affairs Directorate A.S. Shvetsov: he hit the policeman in the stomach with his fist and tried to knock him down. Politicians do not admit guilt.

The judge, making a decision to extend the term of arrest, called Politikov an "informal member of an association" that promotes the overthrow of the current government, Mediazona reports.

On August 8, a meeting was also held on the case of another accused of using violence against a representative of the authorities on March 26, Dmitry Krepkin. On August 9, Andrei Kosykh's trial is expected to begin - unlike the other defendants in the March 26 Case, he is charged with not only not dangerous, but also life-threatening and health-threatening violence against a government official.

So far, three sentences have been handed down in the 26 March Case. Yury Kuliy was sentenced to eight months in a colony-settlement, Alexander Shpakov - to a year and a half in a penal colony, Stanislav Zimovets - to two and a half years in a penal colony. The sentences of Kuliy and Shpakov came into force.
