VKontakte social network allowed cryptocurrency advertising

VKontakte social network allowed advertising cryptocurrencies not prohibited in Russia of cryptocurrency exchanges, blockchain services, startups and business related to mining and bitcoins, the social network said .

“The advertising of cryptocurrencies should be reliable and conscientious, without groundless guarantees. Ads should not violate the remaining rules for placing VKontakte advertising, ”the social network emphasized.

The VKontakte administration promised to reject the notes with guarantees of “quick and passive earnings”, promises to get rich in cryptocurrency or suspicious success stories.

Over the past 12 months, the number of references to the word “Bitcoin” in the public records and comments “VKontakte” has grown by 148%, and more than a million people have been signed on the thematic communities dedicated to cryptocurrencies and mining, Republic reports with reference to social networks.

VKontakte spokesman Yevgeny Krasnikov told RBC that so far the social network has not accepted such ads “because of the vague status of cryptocurrencies in Russian legislation,” but after legal consultations she changed the position on this issue.
