The first Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Dagestan Anatoly Karibov , on behalf of all residents of the republic, writes in a letter addressed to Vladimir Medinsky that “tens of thousands of people of different faiths are asked to prevent a public rental of the film, as they consider it aimed at insulting religious feelings of believers and humiliating human dignity, as well as resettlement of shrines and centuries-old history of our state.”

Judging by the meaning of the letter of Caribov, in the republican government, it became known about the opinion of the Dagestanis only after they studied the information of the State Duma deputy Natalia Poklonskaya , who was sharply against the film “Matilda”.
