© European University in St. PetersburgToday, August 10, the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region upheld the decision of the lower-level instance, which recognized the legitimacy of the unilateral exit of the property relations of St. Petersburg (Kio) from the lease agreement for the European University building in St. Petersburg (EUSPB).
This is stated in the message on the EUSPB website . The court dismissed the university’s complaint.
As the head of the apparatus of the rector of EUSPB Alla Samoletova explained to Interfax , now the city authorities “must file a lawsuit in court and achieve the implementation of the decision” on the eviction of the university from the building or “invite us to negotiations”. Until then, guidelines do not intend to take any action.
In early December 2016, Rosobrnadzor decided to suspend the state license of the EUSPB. This decision was preceded by numerous checks that revealed several formal violations at the university.
On December 13, the Moscow Arbitration Court suspended the order of Rosobrnadzor on the suspension of the EUSPB license, satisfying the request of the university for interim measures. Soon classes continued at the university.
On January 23, 2017, it became known that Kio filed a lawsuit in the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region on the termination of the contract and eviction of the EUSPB “In connection with the non -compliance of the terms of the contract regarding the requirements of the Committee on State Control, the use and Protection of History and Culture Monuments”. As explained in the EUSPB, the basis for the claim was the presence of plastic windows on the yard facades and several temporary partitions inside the building.
On February 10, the Moscow Arbitration Court completely refused the lawsuit of the EUSPB, which demanded that Rosobrnadzor be invalid to recognize the suspension of the university license.
On March 20, the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region decided tocancel the EUSPB license . On July 13, the Moscow Arbitration Court recognized the legality of issuing a re -order of Rosobrnadzor regarding the violations contested by the EUSPB. In this regard, the university decided to issue a new license .
Since the founding of the EUSPB in 1994, all its main offices, audiences, administration, library, computing center, as well as a university publishing house have been located in the Small Marble Palace at Gagarinskaya Street, 3 near the Neva and Summer Garden.
