Sakhalin Film Festival announced a competitive program

Nine films created by filmmakers from 16 countries were included in the competitive program of the 7th Sakhalin International Film Festival "End of the World", which will be held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk from August 25 to September 1.

Russia in the competition is represented by Boris Khlebnikov’s “Arrhythmia” (Grand Prix “Kinotavrav-2017” ) and “hostages” Rezo Gigineishvili (prize “Kinotavra-2017” for the best directing).

Also in the program “Network” Kim Ki Duka and the international premiere of the film “Our flight” by Japanese director Nobater Uchida.

• "Prayer before dawn" (une Prière Avant L'oube, France-Greatbrin, 2017), dir. Jean-Stephanes;
• "Our flight" (OUR Escape, Japan, 2016), dir. Nobuther Uchida;
• "Newton" (Newton, India, 2017), dir. Amit V. Masurkar;
• "Honorary Citizen" (El Ciudadano Ilustre, Argentina-Spania, 2016), dir. Gaston Dupra and Mariano Kon;
• "Net" (The Net, South Korea, 2016), dir. Kim Ki Duk;
• "Glory" (Bulgaria-Greek, 2016), dir. Kristina Grozeva and Pyotr Podlchanov.

The guests of the competitive program will be the directors of Boris Khlebnikov, Rezo Gigineishvili and Jean-Stefan Pen, producer Kim Song Mo and actors Alexander Yatsenko, Avtantil Maharadze and actress Peter Shpalkov.

The jury of the competitive program, chaired by Marina Razbuzhkina, included actor Peter Fedorov (Russia), actress and director Alisa Khazanova (Russia), director of animated cinema and artist Kojami Yamamur (Japan) and producer and director, winner of the 4th Sakhalin Film Festival Ananda Gandhi (India).

In addition to the competitive program at the festival, six creative workshops and master classes of Marina Razbuzhkina, founder and head of the film company Art Doydu Marianne Skrybykina and actors Yevgeny Grishkovtsa, as well as a public discussion “How to learn how to watch a movie and whether to do it” with the participation of the critic of the Anton Dolini and the program director of the Festival “Hero of the world” are planned Medvedev.
