Hunger strikers in support of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation were detained in the Stavropol Territory

In the village of Yessentukskaya (Stavropol Territory), two hunger strikers were detained. This was announced to OVD-Info by Dmitry Chernov, one of the leaders of the Stavropol Veche of Rus organization.

The hunger strike is taking place in the building of the local recreation center, which is located opposite the administration building. In the administration building, as Chernov clarified, the territorial election commission is located. The hunger strike was announced in response to the removal of 27 candidates from the Communist Party from the elections to the village council. According to Chernov, these candidates were supported by local residents, unlike United Russia candidates.

Among the detainees is the current deputy of the village council in the village of Suvorovskaya, Vasily Shakalin, Oleg Kuznetsov, deputy of the village council of the village of Essentuki, reports on Facebook. The rest, according to Dmitry Chernov, barricaded themselves in the building. The police accused the hunger strikers of petty hooliganism. Soldiers of the Russian Guard from Pyatigorsk also arrived at the scene, Chernov said.

UPD: Later, one of the participants of the hunger strike named Andrei told OVD-Info that six or seven people were detained in total. Andrei himself is currently in the hospital, so he does not know the whereabouts of the detainees.
