Dovlatov’s stories “Suitcase” was released in 1986. The hero of the collection, leaving for the United States, takes with him only a small plywood suitcase. The Ministry of Education in 2013 included Dovlatov’s work in the list of a hundred books recommended to schoolchildren for independent reading.
