In Turkey, the jury sentenced to six months in prison Russian Renat Bakiev, detained by the country's authorities on charges of preparing an attack on the Indjirlik air base. This was reported by the Sabah newspaper.

According to the Turkish authorities, the Bakiev, a supporter of the Islamic State, planned with the help of a drone to knock down an American aircraft based on Indjirlik. He was also accused of preparing attacks on the Alevites living in Adan - adherents of one of the unorthodox movements of Islam - and their prayer houses - Dzhemeevi.

The database of Indjirlik is located in Adan. It is used both by Turkey itself and its allies in NATO and the anti -terrorist coalition for raids on IG and Iraq objects in Syria and Iraq.

On Thursday, Interfax said that Bakiev was put on an international wanted list on charges of participating in battles in Syria on the side of the Islamic State. It was claimed that Bakiev left for Syria in 2014 and joined the IG. In July 2015, a case was opened against him in Russia under Article 208 of the Criminal Code (participation in the illegal armed formation abroad).

At the same time, in October 2015, Bakiev was already detained in Turkey and placed in one of the prisons, but later released.

It was reported that since 2012 Bakiev studied at the Geological Department of the Kazan (Volga) Federal University. Then, in April 2014, he flew to Egypt to study in one of the theological educational institutions, and from there he got to Syria.

The detention of Bakiev in Turkey became known on Thursday.
